Silent Auction

Our annual Silent Auction is open for bidding! Community members and local business owners have loaded us up with goodies, and Janie has done an amazing job of collecting and organizing them for your shopping pleasure. Here’s a preview.

For starters, how about this smart bird feeder? Its camera lets you watch the birds up close and personal while they eat, and its built-in AI will even identify them for you. Solar panels on the top of the feeder power the camera, allowing you to view or video your feathered friends. The transparent wall makes the stored seed visible, which attracts hungry birds. Of course, in Lanark Village, it could also attract bears, so you might consider bringing it in at night unless you want to drive the AI feature crazy trying to identify the species.

if you’d rather cook your birds than watch them, how about this shiny new roaster? Its nonstick system “provides extraordinary food release” and will “make cleanup quick and easy.” Well, you don’t need me to read the box to you; you get the message. This roaster will be a quality addition to your kitchen so come to Chillas Hall and write in your bid.

While the turkey’s heating up, you can too. Take your choice of this plush electric blanket or colorful quilt to snuggle up in while you wait for dinner. And while you are at it, why not partake of your treat of choice from this nifty little basket of goodies donated by the Smoke Shop? It might whet your appetite for that turkey you’ve got in the oven.

Later, if you weren’t able to polish off the turkey, you may want to take some leftovers to a friend. You can carry them in the super-dooper insulated bag pictured below to keep them fresh.

Or you can keep them for later by storing them in the compact refrigerator that’s also up for auction. I didn’t get a picture of it yet, but maybe I’ll snap one later when I’m at the Hall for morning coffee. Or maybe i’ll just chill.
