Community Cleanup and Picnic
On a sunny spring Saturday morning, Villagers donned their work duds and fanned out through the village in search of trash. Some were in trucks. Some pulled trailers. Some walked the streets and alleyways picking up stray paper scraps and cigarette butts.
Residents put unwanted items out in the common areas, and volunteers dragged them to the curb. From there, others loaded up the trash and took it to dumpsters provided by Franklin County.
We finished earlier than we thought we would - not because there was less trash than we imagined, but because many hands make light work, and we had many hands pitching in.
Afterward, volunteers headed to the Hall for their reward - a hot dog lunch with all the fixings. And for dessert - ice cream!
A huge thanks from the LVA to everyone who participated and helped to make our community a better place. Villagers are the best!
